Unpacking our experiences and packing our bags

Debriefing is in full swing for the North Africa team and it’s been a powerful last few days of accepting the end of our outreach here and preparing for the adventures that lie ahead.

“How do a even begin to talk about what happened here?” Is a common sentiment I am hearing from the students as we look toward home. The Lord has done so much work in the lives and hearts of our students and through us in his city. Our team has been sharing countless stories of how God showed up in amazing ways and taught us something powerful, and worked though us, or gave us what we needed in the moment we needed it, and the list goes on.

Today we had a worship and prayer session that was suppose to last 1 1/2 hours but went for 2 1/2, and I had to cut us off. We spent the whole time following the theme of “adoration and exultation” and the students had A LOT to exult God about. It was amazing to be a part of.

Tomorrow we start packing and organizing our stuff and deep cleaning our hotel rooms. We have a Bible study on obedience planned, and a final visit from our hosts for fellowship, testimonies, and goodbyes. We are making sure to eat all the food, grab up final souvenirs, and enjoy each moment together as a team. The bonds are tight, and goodbyes are going to be tough.

Our last day will include one more big shopping trip to the Medina, final packing, and some important team time. Morocco has been very kind to us and it’s a bitter sweet goodbye for sure.

Continue to pray for good closure and for God to prepare our hearts well for the return home.
