Spain Update 3 - Final Days in Spain

Final Days in Spain…

We are now at the end of our time here in Spain and enjoying our days of debriefing in the beautiful ancient city of Toledo.  It has been a joy to serve with this team!

I have watched them come together as a family to learn, love, and live well. They have all grown so much and had so many amazing opportunities to talk with people about their faith.

Here are some quotes from the team that will give you a glimpse of what they have learned and what they have seen God do!

Kiley -

"God has shown me that I can fully trust Him and fully rely on Him. I've also learned that I need to be ready and available for God to use me for His plan."

Maddi -

"God taught me this summer that living life with Him is not always easy but is always the better choice; and that life with Jesus is way better than life without Him!"

Kailyn -

"God taught me how to be bold in my faith, He taught me how to work well with others - even in hard situations. He also taught me how to love myself through His eyes. I learned that it is better to trust God than to learn on my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6)."

"I have learned to apply God's word to my life and have grown in confidence when it comes to talking about my faith."

Abigail B. -

"I learned that it is only by Jesus that I can grow and make other disciples. I learned how to share my faith in very practical ways. God taught me the importance of prayer, the importance of community with other believers, the importance of spending daily time in His word - reflecting, meditating, and praying about it. I have also learned about God's heart for the lost."

Wilks -

"I have seen God open people's hearts to be receptive to Jesus and our message of Truth. I have gained more compassion for people of other religions, and it makes me want to do all I can to tell other people what Jesus has done for me."

Ariel -

"I have grown closer to God through our daily quiet times. I grew to love His Word more, and enjoyed praying every day. God taught me that knowing His Word better helps me to defend my faith in Christ. I am more grounded in my beliefs and was challenged in some good ways while talking to people about Jesus."

Andrew -

"I have seen God move hearts of people toward Him and seen him transcend language barriers that I did not think possible. I have learned if we listen to and trust God, that He will use us to tell others about Jesus - even if we don't feel capable of doing so."

Keira -

"I have learned how to be confident and bold in my faith. I finally understand what it means when we say, ‘Evangelism is taking the initiative to share Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results up to God.’ I am realizing that if people reject the message, they are not rejecting me.

Evie -

"God has touched my heart and given me a deep desire to love and serve Him with my life. He has shown me His faithfulness and who I am in Him. I can't even begin to explain all that I have learned by ministering in the streets of Spain, but one big thing is that I have learned to defend my faith and ask good questions to challenge others."

Abby L. -

God has been teaching me that when you seek Jesus daily, you begin to delight in Him and see that He is what is most important. Everything changes when you come to see the goodness of God in everything. Also God has taught me to find "awe" in all that He does. It is easy to celebrate the big ways that God moves but overlook the small ones. The truth is that every move of God is amazing, astonishing, and worth wonder & awe. He is good in all that he does."

After reading these statements from the Spain students and summer staff - you can see why I said it is such a joy to serve with them! What a blessing to see God work in and through them in so many powerful ways.

As we finish up this trip and go home...
