Peru Update 1

The past week has been such a blessing for the Peru team. The team has settled in quickly, and we are loving the city of Arequipa. God has been working through the team in incredible ways this week, and we are so excited to see how He continues to work here in Peru.

At the beginning of the week, the team spent a day at one of our partner churches here in Arequipa. A few of the church leaders led the team on a prayer walk through the neighborhood around the church, and the team prayed over different parts of the area. The team also helped the church with some work projects, and performed their drama and puppets act for the church’s family night.

The team has also been able to learn a lot from the missionaries here, and the team has already been practicing what they have learned about spreading the gospel. The team had the opportunity to help lead Bible studies for an English school, which we will continue to do throughout our time here.

The team has been using their gifts to share God’s love with people that may not know Jesus, and it has been such a blessing to witness. The students on this team are passionate about the Lord and sharing His word, and they have already impacted lives of people here in Arequipa.

On Friday, we learned more about some of the missionaries here, and how they serve here in Peru. During that time we were also able to explore a canyon which was a highlight for many on the team. On Saturday night, the team also helped plan and lead a church youth night consisting of games, skits, a testimony and the gospel shared, and s’mores! After a full week, we took time to rest on Sunday and spend personal time with the Lord.
