Final Days of Ministry in Nepal

On, without contradiction, our most funnest day of the summer, at the school for Children with Special Needs, we played with and loved on students that the local society has forgotten about. Joy, Rachel, Daniel, and Noelle were rock stars while getting into balloon sword fights with the children. The children then, in return, performed their dances for us, and I honestly can say that I enjoy their performances better than our own.

We did our last church service this past weekend, and it's hard to believe we are that deep into the summer. The day before the service, we went on a walk across a huge suspension bridge after our ministry. When we got to the other side, we met 3 people that we sensed, through conversation, that they were believers, and it turns out they were, and they were on a prayer walk. We mentioned the church we were going to be speaking at the next day, and it turned out to be one of the men’s churches. Isn’t it ironic, don’t ya think? The next day the church service went well, and then afterwards we did the youth service; only there were not many youth in attendance, so the whole church body stayed and made it special for our team. Lilly Beth did a wonderful job sharing her testimony, and Pierre gave a talk about being adopted by the Father; seriously, both of them showed great presence and delivery along with a timely message. Faith, Acaycia, and Maddy showed how puppets can be such an effective tool for ministry. I think these guys are ready to start leading youth group ministry already.

On Sunday, we went and took a saturated hike on a part of the Anupurna trekking circuit and went up to Dhampus. Maddy may have won the award for the best slip and slide. Unfortunately, we did not get great mountain views, and our ministry opportunities in the village were canceled due to the rain, but we did get hoodies full of raindrops. However, we were able to share the gospel with a man and his wife on the way up and saw them commit to Christ and receive a bible. Well worth the soggy socks.

When we were back in Pokhara, the men on the team and I went off for a guys' night to visit Raj the Barber.  I have been building a relationship with him and sharing Christ with him for a couple of years now. We were able to get the most fire haircuts, shaves, and massages that made every other foreigner visiting this country furious that they didn’t look as fresh as our men.
