Europe Update 4 - Offering Hope

Street Ministry - Offering Hope

Hebrews 6:19, 20

”We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf…”

Hope. This is a word that has come up time and time again in our gospel conversations during street ministry. Across three very different cultural backdrops, the need for a hope is universal. Some hope they have done enough to enter heaven. Some hope that there is more than just this life. Some hope to just enjoy themselves because they think this is all there is. It is in these moments that we, as believers, have the opportunity to introduce a soul to our eternal hope, Jesus Christ.

Hope can take shape in many forms, but only one is “a SURE and STEADFAST anchor of the soul.” This hope is fully secure because it has made a way for rescue and reconciliation with our Creator. Jesus has done the work that we could never do, taking our failures and best efforts that still miss the mark, to present us blameless before God.

THIS is true Hope, and this is what our students have been faithful to communicate in each opportunity they have been presented with. I am so proud of our Europe team; the endurance and courage they have shown. To trust in something so much bigger and more important than themselves, and to do it faithfully with smiles on their faces is remarkable.

As we transition now from ministry into debrief, we want to continue to carry this hope into the world around us. We strive to finish well, and see you all soon.

Till next time,

Jeremy
