Guatemala

Guatemala is a country rich in scenery, culture, hospitality, and awe-inspiring displays of God’s creation. But it’s also a country continually battling the crushing weight of poverty. On this trip, we will set out to establish relationships with local Guatemalans, offering help in the form of education, children’s ministry, youth outreach, and the message of hope in Jesus Christ. The possibilities are abundant and the need is real!

outreach

We will be partnering with local church pastors and ministry leaders with a long history of meeting the needs of those in their community. We are likely to find ourselves spending time in schools, young churches, and rural communities serving as helping hands and encouraging friends to the people of Guatemala.

safety

We will be safe. Promise.

eat & Sleep

We will be staying in a large, private house with dorm style rooms, including bunk beds, bedding, hot showers, and plenty of meeting space. Located in an especially safe area, this place keeps us in close proximity to our ministry locations and offers plenty to see and do. Our meals will also be provided at the house, so expect some classic Guatemalan food, and plenty of it.

who should go?

This trip is for participants ages 13-25. This trip is ideally suited for someone who is eager to experience new things, enjoys building relationships, serving others, and can adapt to a variety of ministry environments. If you like to travel and have a desire to grow in your faith and your ability to share the gospel message to others, then this a great opportunity for you.

You don’t have to be a professional evangelist or a flawless Christian. This will be a chance to practice talking about your faith with other people, building new relationships, and gaining some new ministry skills. God calls us all to evangelism, though it can be intimidating and scary. We believe that with some practice and some help, you will experience the thrill and rewards that come with stepping out and sharing your faith with someone who needs to hear it. No need to wait around anymore for the perfect opportunity. This is it!

logistics & cost

The base cost of the mission trip is to be determined and announced in April 2019. This cost covers food, lodging, and transportation once the team arrives in Guatemala. The cost also covers a group t-shirt, a duffel pack for your luggage, and limited international travel insurance.

You will need to provide your own passport and travel to Chicago to meet the team before flying out to Guatemala. Once your online registration is complete and we receive your $100 deposit, we will send you a Prep Packet that will contain all the info you need to prepare for the trip.

Included in the prep packet:

fundraising

While fundraising can be a daunting task and the idea of asking people to help you cover the cost of this trip might be intimidating to you, we believe that there are many people out there who know you and would love the chance to invest into something so worthwhile. It is an amazing experience to see God provide for an opportunity like this through the people in your life. We can help you figure out how to get the word out and show people you are ready to serve God in Guatemala. We are happy to coach you through the process and hope that you don’t hesitate to take us up on the offer.

We had an amazing time in serving in this country and unfortunately this group trip is no longer available. If you're looking for group or individual mission trips, click below to visit our home page.
