Quick Facts

Students: June 26 to August 7, 2010 [6 weeks]
Staff Disciplers:

June 19 to August 7, 2010 [7 weeks]

The China mission trip is 43 days long and for the adventurous.  The food, the culture, the signs, and the scenes on the streets are so completely different than America.  You will travel like the Chinese--by train--and see a lot of the country.  You will get to know the people.   You are required to raise $3,795 plus your spending money and visa (see below).

The Heart of Your Ministry...

You will work in two working-class cities in China.  We partner with missionaries who will use your team in strategic ways to reach Chinese students.  We work in the public schools doing English camps.   They're not about teaching English.  They're about fun and laughter, as well as eating, singing, skits, and sports.

You will be a part of a small group, usually two Royal Servants to six to eight Chinese.  The activities build relationships and trust, and it's in the small groups where you'll build deep and lasting friendships with the Chinese.  Through those relationships God is going to use you to be His ambassador to bring the Good News!  Royal Servants is not all about numbers, but in the last two years those on the China mission trip have led two important teachers and more than 60 students to Jesus.

Most DO NOT Know who Jesus is...

Do you know who Attila the Hun is? You may have heard his name but have no idea where he lived or why he is famous.  It's the same for most Chinese about Jesus Christ.  We will put you in a place where you can use your English language as a platform to bring Jesus into their world. You will be able to tell them who He is, why He lived, and who He is to you.

Adventure...

On the China mission trip you'll "ride the rails," and most trips average two or three overnight train trips. They're great...and comfortable!  In China you will learn to say Ni Hao (Hello in Mandarin), eat dumplings and sweet and sour chicken, and hang out with new Chinese friends. During debriefing you will spend a week in Beijing, go to the Great Wall, walk in the Forbidden City and shop at the famous Silk Market.

Most people who go to China are tourists, but you'll be going as a traveler.  You'll get out of the major cities and get to know the real Chinese people and see the countryside of the authentic China, not some crowded tourist destination!

Safety...

Royal Servants has been leading mission trips to China since 1987.  In all that time we have never been threatened, harassed, or had any problems.  Instead, we get enthusiastically invited back!  Royal Servants will not do anything that is illegal.  We don't proselytize on the streets.  When asked, we simply share with Chinese students what we believe, within the context of a relationship.  It's simple, it's effective, and it's legal.  However, if you, or anyone you know is worried, Contact Tom Ives, the China mission trip leader.  He will be able to address your concerns about ministering in this wonderful country.

New Friends...

In China you are going to play hard and minister even harder!  You are going to get to know your teammates better, and rely on them more, than you can imagine.  Those kinds of experiences build a quality and depth you will rarely experience in life.  You'll laugh together as you challenge each other to eat chicken feet, cow intestines, or other interesting foods (the guys always go for dog).  You will walk away from the summer with lasting friendships.

Spiritual Transformation...

Doing ministry in a country that can be resistant to the Christian message will be challenging.  You will learn to trust the Father in new ways, see Him work in tangible ways, and experience Him working in and through you in ways that are refreshing and exciting!

On all of our mission trips your spiritual growth is a priority.  When you immerse yourself in the Bible during your quiet times, share in your discipleship groups, memorize scripture, pray together, and worship together on a daily basis, you'll grow!  That transformation will come full-circle as you share your faith, giving away to others what God is giving to you!
