Basketball Missions Trip

Go on a mission trip with Royal Servants and use your basketball skills.  Basketball has a universal culture all its own and creates a great opportunity to share the Gospel.  We have a place for basketball players on our Ukraine missions trip.

Quick Facts

The Basketball mission trip to the Ukraine is 5 weeks long for participants and 6 weeks long for college-age staff disciplers.  It begins on June 20 for participants and June 13 for staff disciplers.  You return on July 25.  You are required to raise $3,595 plus your spending money.  So you go longer, do more ministry, and develop lasting relationships.

Basketball Camp...

If you like to share your love for basketball with others, you will have a blast helping run a basketball camp in Ukraine.  This camp will teach the basics of the game and create a great opportunity to build relationships with local young Ukrainians who are looking for constructive avenues to invest their time.

Tournaments...

If you like highly competitive fast action, you will love the tournament play in Ukraine.  You will join with students from across North America to form a tournament team that will compete against local Ukrainian teams.  While these teams are local, they are not lightweights.   You will have to give your best, and let your light shine, to give the Ukrainians a run for their money.

Pickup Games...

If you prefer more casual basketball, or have never played before and want to, you can play in the city where we minister.  Basketball is a popular and growing sport in Ukraine.  It is a great way to draw people in, develop relationships, an win and opportunity to share Christ.  The pickup basketball is much more relaxed and relational.

Girls Basketball...

If you are a girl and enjoy basketball, there is a great opportunity here.  Basketball is a major female sport in the Ukraine.  They even have their own professional women's league.  Playing with local girls is a great connection point that can quickly lead into great relational opportunities.  And, you can have a lot of fun in the pickup basketball games as well.

Basketball and More...

There will be other opportunities to reach out, make friends, and share about Christ.  Basketball provides a great stepping stone for sharing the gospel, but you will also be challenged to take bold steps and share about Christ.

Not A Basketball Player? 

That is OK!  We need you.  While basketball is big, and plays an important role on our Ukraine mission trip, there are plenty of spots for other interests.  It is one tool among others that we will use to spread the Good News.  You can use drama, dance, or puppets to create ministry opportunities and there are always people around the games that need to hear about Christ.  Basketball player or not, together we will form a team that will bring the gospel to a people ready to hear from you about Christ.
