If reading the Bible to your kids is not practical then it is just not useful. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 offers practical ways to teach and expose God's story to your little ones.  The Author encourages parents to hear Him and love him first for ourselves, then to know His story and keep His commands in our hearts, and finally simply to talk about Him with our kids.  Our family fell into a daily and weekly routine as the process of reading the Bible developed and as the kids' love for His Word increased.  Our nightly routine started with a read-aloud practice already established and our time in God's Word was short and uncomplicated. I stuck to the narrative by reading only the portions that told the story of God and His action in redeeming His people back to Himself. Bible study became part of our family's natural daily routine, and it all started with story time.
