Biggest Loser

Staff-BC-Tom-Ives

5 Suggestions for Stepping Out In Faith--I was watching, "The Biggest Loser" the other night, and I was struck by something Bob said.  In the midst of encouraging one of the participants during a particularly painful workout, Bob, with that razor-sharp intensity of a coach, said, "You have to find new limits!"  Wham!  Straight to the point and on target...

Nepal Update #7--Wrapping it Up

We headed out for a day at Shanta's Peace Rehabilitaion Center. There we heard Shanta's personal salvation testimony as well as how God called her into this amazing ministry. We also did our best to bring some laughter and joy to the girls that PRC have rescued from the sex trafficking trade through our puppet, dance and drama progam.....and by just hanging out and "loving on" them!

Nepal Update #6

Two other things that we failed to mention in earlier reports that need to be shared! (These are just two instances where this group of students took the initiative to show the love of Christ in tangible ways.)  The first happened at the small church we attended two Sundays ago in Kathmandu. While we were there, Pastor Sam took up a special offering they had scheduled to do 6 weeks earlier. He revealed their desire and need for their tiny congregation to print another 10,000 tracts. These will be used by their evangelism teams who hit the streets of Kathmandu each Saturday afternoon.....in an attempt to share Christ with their own people. Our students dug deep and all of the needed funds were gathered for the printing of the tracts. Pastor Sam was simply overjoyed and so very thankful to God for His provision "through the generosity of these American students"!

Nepal Update #5, Impressions from Students

Things are Different in Pokhara.  "Coming to Pokhara has brought a new series of challenges and joys. It is a beautiful area but it has hard to see beggars come right up to the area where we eat and ask for food. This is something that didn't happen in Kathmandu. But, on a more positive note, every night the hotel puts on a program of cultural music and traditional dance. Last night I was able to talk with two of the girl dancers involved in this program. They talked me and asked a lot of questions. I was able to share why our team was here and a little about my faith in Christ. Hopefully I'll be able to talk to them more throughout our stay here!"

Nepal Update #4, Moving to the Pokhara in the Mountians

Last Wednesday night we packed our stuff and cleaned our rooms. At 6am
on Thursday morning we loaded all of our equipment and supplies on the
bus and began the 7-8 hour journey to Pokhara. We stopped twice along
the way at "rest/food" areas and experienced some Nepali food. We also
stopped and played in the refreshing waters of a very tall plunging
waterfall for some time. It was a nice break.
